David Černý is a graduate of the Glass Studio at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague. He spent his internships abroad in the Netherlands and participated in several Czech and international exhibitions. The last one was the Transparency of Colours exhibition in Lommel, Belgium.
David Černý’s sculptures emerge from the half-light, attract our attention, entice us to explore, surprise us. The neon light is pleasant to look at, pleasing to the eyes and at the same time mysterious in its trembling, giving the impression of impermanence and constant change, perhaps even something animal. By handling this type of light in the multifaceted compositional relationships of his new works, David Černý presents an extraordinary and artistically distinctive achievement.
